The S-50 was delivered and I finally had time to clean it and adjust. The action was horrible (this was noted in the posting) and it really needed a setup. The high action was caused by the bridge being too far forward. The back two screw holes on these bridges have slots to allow some adjustment for intonation. Being too far forward put the back edge of the screw under the saddle piece that you can move up and down and it prevented it from being lowered. I removed all hardware to clean and addressed this issue, gave it a full setup and now the action is perfect with room to lower.
The guitar cleaned up really well and for a guitar almost 60 years old it is in remarkable condition and sounds great!
