Hello, everyone. I'm a newbie to Guild guitars as well as this forum - I just picked up my very first Guild about a week ago. I found this forum while searching for information about my "new" guitar.
I bought a 1991 D25NT, built in Westerly, from Guitar Gallery in Scottsdale AZ last week for $700, which seemed like a pretty decent price after I saw D25s from the same era selling for $900 and higher on eBay, and in much worse condition. This one was pretty grimy when I brought it home, but aside from a couple of minor finish dings it's in great shape - and after a little cleaning, polishing, and fretboard conditioning it looks great (see photos below). I've been a Taylor player, and I still love 'em, but my D25 has a beautiful sound that's completely different from my Taylors. I'm thoroughly impressed.
Can anyone tell me what nut/saddle material would have been used on this model? Since the back is arched I'm assuming it's laminate and the sides are solid, but can anyone confirm that? Thanks!
