Hi...I'm new to the Forum and I'm looking for Guild 12 string info......I have a "68" Gibson B-45 12 , and a "70" Gibson LG12...To my ear both have lost thier 'brightness", or mabey they never had it. Probably the lattter. I don't care for a Jumbo, but like a wider neck (1 7/8"). Any Ideas?....Did Guild ever made a 12 fret? Are the new Guilds o.k., or do I need to think "Rhode Island" ?...Thanx in advance...

Welcome aboard, Jack.

You might like a G-312. Mine is from the '70s. That's a dreadnought with a rosewood body. There are also mahogany D4 12-strings too from later on. There might even be a current "GAD" model (made in China) which meets your requirements.

I don't think there are any Guild 12-frets, at least in the 12-string realm.

I haven't played any of the newer Guild 12's, but there aren't nearly as many options as there used to be.

I'd suggest an F112 as an outstanding entry level into the Westerly, RI Guild era 12's. I have a '73, and I absolutely love it. I believe the width at the nut is 1 13/16". This is a mini jumbo body, very easy to handle. Other lower end Westerly models include the D4-12 and D25-12 (amongst many others). These 2 are essentially the same guitar- dreadnaught body, spruce top, mahogany back/sides.
