Not sure if anyone caught this post on FB answering someone's question on new Guild production. I looked but didn't see anything so I thought I'd post it here:

"Guild Guitars: We are starting with the M-20 & the D-20 (formerly the D-25) first, and then later in the year we'll be making D-55s, F-512s, and F-55s (formerly called F-50s). We're switching up the model names in order to standardize them a bit, but the guitars themselves will remain the same as they always were."

Anyway, I didn't realize that they had decided to produce the D20 (D25) in the USA again. I would think this would spark some discussion here knowing the affinity for the D25 on this forum & the Guild community as a whole.

Guild's FB statement is interesting in that it's not entirely historically accurate. The D20 may be nearly identical to the original D25 (flat back; mahogany top, back, and sides), but it's certainly different from the D25 as it existed for the vast majority of its run (spruce top, arched back). The standardization of the numbering scheme makes sesense (0=no bling, 5=bling), even if it bodes ill for the future of the F47 (which, I suppose, will become the F45 if it's revived). But the "same as they always were" part is just wrong.
