Understand that I'm working blind here. The way the Guild biasing system works is there is a 6.8 ohm between the cathode and ground. Normally, the cathode goes right to ground, but, by inserting the resistor, the engineers determined that less than half a volt set the proper current flow through the tube. Chinese 6L6's may not be the greatest tubes, but they should be able to handle the voltages. The exceptions are the amps that came with 8417's which run around 530 volts on the plates. When you bias up the amp, keep an eye on the tubes. If the structure inside starts to turn orange or red, back off.
