Hello, Hello. I'm new to the forum, this is my first post but i've been snooping around for a while learning about vintage starfires. I've been lusting after an old Cherry SF since seeing Gord Tough (playing with Kathleen Edwards) getting such amazing tone out of his, and I'm pretty smitten by the fact that you can get a 60's SF at prices that make 335's a joke.
So, after much debate, research and patience...I pulled the trigger on a 66 SF IV in ridiculous condition! I have to say these are hands down the BEST sounding pickups I've ever heard (I thought my wolfetone A2 P90's would never be de-throned) I guess I've always wished PAF style Hums were just leaned a tad more to the single coil side...well i wish i'd know i just needed these little jokers.
Thanks for putting a lot of content on the site, it helped me a great deal. Take it easy
Matt
