Hi Jerry, not too much new. Mikes Dad had a few health issues( he's 85yrs) and Mike has other customers as well! Can you believe it??!  ...anyway the fingerboard is glued on and now we are waiting for time enough to carve the neck. I will get pleanty of pics of that process.. Dont forget to click on the pics :)

here are a few of the other projects that Mike is doing at the same time as we are doing mine:

A classical guitar in Myrtle with Babinga bindings

another classical in curley Maple

and here is yet another classical in some beautiful Indian Rosewood.
Only has a couple of coats of sealer on it thats why you can still see all of the pores. Very nice

Moon Face in White Mother of Pearl W/Abalone eye...too Kool!

bought a couple of piecces of Red Abalone to inlay the tie block with. I will be using the top piece. Should go well with the red ivory in the roesette. Should be carving the neck on Sunday if all goes well. I"ll be sure to get a few good pics of the process.

Thanks! I saw the man in the moon inlay here:

http://www.luthiersupply.com/
when I was buying my headstock inlay and thought wow..that reminds me of my father always telling me he "might as well be talking to the man in the moon" when he tried to talk sense to me when I was younger!
...BTW, it never did any good!

Hi Jerry,
not too much longer. a few weeks I guess. Mike just got orders for six more guitars so he will be finishing the current batch pretty soon. I'll be working on it a little Sunday but, there is not much I can do at this point.
Dont have many skills as of yet  time to make and install the bridge, apply the rest of the finish, install the tuning machines and pickup.
Then lock myself away for a while and try to learn to play it!!
