Yep. Any way you look at it, it's from the new factory in New Hartford and it's brand new. Never thought I'd spring the cash for a pristine edition, but Son Le's dealer in Utah cut me such a good deal I couldn't afford to buy a used one. My first impression was that it can't be a Jumbo. Looked too small, felt too light. I actually measured it to be sure. Pulled out the scale. My 65-12 with electronics weighs 7lb 3oz, the 65-12 without is 6lb 13oz, while the F512 is 5lb 12oz! When I put it in my lap, feels like I've been on a diet! Most notable cosmetically is the (very smooth) open strip tuners. The headstock overlay has a noticeable wood grain. Fit and finish are beautiful. It sounds a lot like my departed G312, a little rounder and more mellow, but very similar all the same. On the other hand, the G312 had 32 years to break-in. Anyway, this one's a keeper. I'll get some family pics tomorrow.

Congratulations on the new arrival. I'd love a 12er just like that!

Lovely guitar. Congratulations! I have not played one, yet, but now I want to.

I hadn't stopped to think about the significant weight reduction the carbon vs steel truss rods would introduce. Are you certain it is a Guild? :D

Congratulations, Charlie! That's a beautiful guitar. Guild's flagship 12er (IMO).

I really cherish my Tacoma version; the New Hartford one is truly carrying the torch to a new level. (is that a mixed metaphor? :))

That's a real beauty.
What store did you get it from?
Do they have any D-40s there?
Thanks,
TMG.

I sent you a PM, TMG. No secret, just seems best discussed that way. Charlie

The evidence confirms that I'm no photographer, but here's some more pics.
1. My Guild 12-string family. The F512's in front.

2. The new Gotoh strips. Notice no serial # stamped above the tuners, or anywhere else I can find. Just on the label, apparently.

3. The pegs are slotted! I don't even know how to put strings on the thing, though I guess I'll figure it out. As can be seen at the first fret, all the abalone is very green.
IMG_3140a.jpg

4. The rosette is narrower than on the 65-12's. Very tasteful.

5. Bookmatching is near perfect. I believe New Hartford is out to prove something, and they're proving it to me, for sure.

Great photos! Those are real beauties.

(If I have looked at your photos more than four times now, should I be seeking help? )

If your fretting fingers start to spasm uncontrollably in chord formations, then you should seek help. :D
