Hi all,
I'm new to LTG, but have been reading on the forums as I have recently acquired a 1997 Starfire IV. (Although I didn't pay the advertised price for it, you may still be able to see it at http://massstreetmusic.com/store/show_i ... tarfire-IV). I had been in the market for a semi-hollow body (ES-335 or ES-339) for over a year, had played several and was wary of the intermittent quality of the Gibsons and of the ordinary-sounding clones. I happened in my local shop and played this one, and it was just killer in terms of looks, playability, and tone (both clean and overdrive).
Some questions...what pickups are likely in this one? Some threads say 1997s have Fender-built, others say that they are Duncan (haven't opened it up to look myself, am too busy playing it). Also, it looks like the pick guard is not original (there's no Guild logo on it), but I can't tell.
Thanks for any ideas.
