Hi Everyone,
Glad to see there's a place where these fantastic guitars can be admired and discussed with others.
I purchased my first Guild at the beginning of July, from the 'bay. A 1972 Guild S-100 Deluxe, in Cherry finish.
I'll admit that I had actually been looking for an S-300D, and after a couple of years never being able to find one locally, I turned to that popular online auction place... I had my eye on an S-300AD, got in an unexpected bidding war (hopefully with none of you - if so, apologies - I wasn't a member at the time), and at the last second...lost. Wallowing in my defeat, this S-100 was listed shortly thereafter to take all my troubles away. Now it seems like it was meant to be. This thing is simply incredible.
The listing for this guitar was vague, and the pictures--not very good. I took a chance. Yes, it does show questionable scuffs and scratches....but it plays like a dream. Frets show absolutely no signs of wear, and these HB-1s are pure magic. I've grown to appreciate the mysterious blemishes, and the HB-1's continue to surprise me every time I plug in.
I believe this is a 1972, with a serial number of 70067.
Let's see if I can figure out how to attach a picture, or two.
I am still looking for an S-300. But, an acoustic is next on the list; thinking a D25/D30/GF25. I bought this S-60 recently, and would ideally like to trade it for one of the Guild acoustics that I mentioned. Will list it in the appropriate board within the next week? Here's a shot of it as well.
