Hey there...

So I bought the F30... Going to pick it up today!
I noticed that it had been re-strung with
medium strings...
Is that ok with the smaller body of the guitar? The guy @ guitar center that put the strings on it said it came I with light strings on it...and they were 't loud enough...
Could the strings damage the guitar?
It is a beauty!

Thanks,
Rudy

You are soooooo lucky. What horrible things I would do for an F30. Yes they come with lights, but mediums work too with a quick adjustment from the truss rod. I would retry lights since it is a small guitar. I bet that lights will be plenty loud when you get it home. I assume it is hog back/sides and I really really like 80/20s with hog. Really brings out the hog tone. EXPs are pretty good.

Probably spent too much time in the amp department. I HATE it when they do that!
It changes what Guild intends the prospective purchaser to experience with a factory stock guitar.

Congrats! I keep EXP mediums on my F30. I've had medium strings on it for about 25 years. Never had an issue. The action has stayed true. String choice is a personal preference, for my style of playing, I prefer mediums over lights.

Most Guilds are built like a truck. Medium strings very rarely affect them, or harm them.

You can try this before you change out those medium strings: tune the whole guitar 1 step down to "D", and you will hear the top of that F-30 resonate like no other! Put a capo on the second fret to play along with the rest of the world.

AND then . . . do a drop D tuning from there. Your low "E" - actually it is a D now - will be down to a low "C". You wanna hear growl? Oh, yeah . . . You look closely, and you can almost see the top vibrate!

Just a suggestion.
