Today, my younger son enters his Babe Ruth playoffs. He's an animal at the mound and an excellent all-around player. It's been fun helping him and watching him develop as a player over the years. He is a bright kid with far more athletic talent than I ever had. I don't know if it'll play any role in his future, but in all honesty the "proud parent" thing is a rather rare feeling for me. I have always had very high expectations.

Yesterday's games got rained out, and the weather in New England has been pretty dicey for the last week or so, but today is glorious and I'm looking forward to a relaxing, low-pressure day.

Anyway, I'm just posting up from my Dunkin Donuts morning meal to remind folks that crappy events and crappy weather do pass, and we should treasure the good days. At least that's how I feel. I'm not a religious guy, but we are blessed to have these wonderful things in our lives and to have each other (around here, that is) to get through the good and bad times.

My best wishes, LTGers. Enjoy your day!

A bright and cheerful message filled with good stuff and GREAT to read with my first cup of coffee. This AND the fact that I get today off is starting my day off in a really good way. Cheers, Chazmo! Even after the HELL that was yesterday, you realize that .... it's just temporary. Life's good. Happy Sunday.

It's the old saying "If you don't like the weather in New England, wait a minute." True here on Long Island as well.

You mean that big picture that hangs over the piano? Cuz I can't see that from my bedroom, but if I lean out into the hallway, I can keep it in sight.....

Just move your bed slightly so you can see it from there, and always keep the door open then. :biggrin-new:

Nice sentiments, chazmo! Spending relaxing time with family, particularly your kids, is the ultimate. We scheduled a cookout today to celebrate my son's wife's college graduation, I'm with you on the great weather!

Thanks Chaz for that timely and happy reminder..........And Yes indeed, We all have so much to be thankful for and to appreciate. Better to focus on all that than the negatives that come and go. Appreciate and enjoy that which we have....Embrace those things, and yes indeed, the days do get better.
Thanks for that message.:courage:

Allen Sherman, perhaps?

I recall Tom Lehrer for Poisoning Pigeons in the Park and the Periodic Table, among others.

Allen Sherman also wrote the 12 days of Christmas. Tom Lehrer wrote She's my gal and I love her, poisoning pigeons, and a host of others I'm sorry I remember.
