Thanks to Eric for the new home for my T-Bird. The Guild gig bag is one of the best I've seen, but I feel more comfortable with a hard case. This TKL Gib*** case is almost perfect, only about an inch too wide at the body. (I don't plan on doing a lot of heavy transport, so I'll leave it for now as is.)

nice! glad it worked out Chris. thats a nice case, they dont make them like they used to. and a real nice guitar! WW i played the T-bird at Sam Ash, that thing is a bit much for me, but the tone sounded nice, on the cleaner/glassier side, to my ears at least.

The T-bird's sound has a lovely clarity to it that I find works well straight into an amp or via effects. I hardly ever use a compressor with a humbucker-equipped guitar, but the T-bird can take moderate compression without flattening out. Right now I prefer this, with some volume boost added, to using overdrive/distortion/fuzz. It's a great funky rhythm machine too in the bridge setting with the low-cut filter switched in.

That TKL case looks good with the T-bird inside. Must check one out in person.

I've only played it into my '55 Gibson GA-9 so far, which is a small clean amp, so I can't speak to its overdriven sound yet. I hear the Guild mini-hums as a little cleaner, lighter sound to full size humbuckers, but not thin like single coils, yet not gritty like P90s. Depending on the settings of the various switches, you can get a warmer, fuller sound, or a brighter sound.
Great for clean blues (no mistake Muddy Waters played one), I can't wait to plug it into my Thunderstar when I bring it into school and push it.

After playing and recording mine for about a week and a half, I would answer the question "What is the tone like?" with the reply:

Its natural tone rings clear across the audible spectrum, and its electronics translate those tones with a brilliance.

It is easily the coolest electric guitar I've ever played.
