Gotta love American manufacturing! I did electronics manufacturing for 30 years,

"One of the best moments was having drinks with Larry Fishman of Fishman electronics. We were discussing Guilds and told me that he got his start making bass pickups for Guild at the Westerly plant in the 70's or 80's. He was a nice guy and of course I had to tell him how big a fan I am of the prefix which I have in my DCE3 and the outboard acoustic EQ that I use at my shows. I was intrigued to find out that most of their production is now in the US. A bi-product of the pandemic, rising transport costs and difficulty of getting chips from China. I was pleased to hear this and I hope it stays that way. I also hope many others follow suit. He was pretty proud of that fact. He also said because of this he was able to hire about 40 people and put them on the assembly line. Loved hearing that."

Shame about the unused floor space, but not too surprising either. I hope things pick up in time and that NAMM keeps going strong.

I have some former colleagues who were making waves (pun intentional) with their new synthesizer. Just FYI: https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/proud-of-my-peeps-building-a-new-synth.212316
I work in the tradeshow industry and have for 24 years. Attrition is just the norm right now. I am just glad folks are getting out. Truth is I believe a new variation of face to face events is emerging. It actually started pre-COVID. That is corporate sponsors giving a small percentage of their budget to involvement on the show and shifting some of the budget to off site events where they can invite prospects / clients without the chaos of dealing with visual competition. The only problem with this model is what happens when everyone does that and the show crumbles - the very reason people boarded a plane to begin with??? You have to have a healthy balance. It will get there. It will have a slightly different face but it will get there. No matter how capable virtual meeting technology may be, and at my firm we have it all, nothing will replace having a drink with Larry Fishman at a hotel bar and talking shop.

They moved the table to shoot video. Nice. Also looks like they brought in a D-55.

^ Definitely. Does the Godin have a hybrid neck (with some add'l width and radius) or is it like a classical (wider even, and flat)?

Chaz I think the neck is fairly small and a bolt on with the Godins. I'd have to check it out. In the meantime, sign me up for this bird!!!

Surfliner series gets best in show at NAMM 2022 in the "Gotta Stock It" category. Pretty cool.
The Cordoba Stage guitar also found in this category.
