Made a swap today, guitar for an amp. But no Guilds were involved...

Nice 18-watt Dr. Z combo. Not a mark on it. And yeah, just about surf green.
Also included a padded cover and the "Brake Lite" attenuator.

Simplicity.

I'd read and heard a lot about Dr. Z amps, but never played one until this morning. I was amazed at the quality of the sound and the construction. I could not let it leave the house.

Oh, well... one less guitar but one more amp.

Very cool Dave! Love the retro vibe. Looks like the Gibson went?

Thanks, Sandy. Yep, the Gibby has gone on to greener pastures. It was a nice guitar (for a Gibson) but the D-40 and the D-18 are better.

Interesting Dave. I don't think I'd ever trade my Gibson away, as it's wonderful and like no other in my herd. Best neck profile too.

Maybe you need a slope shoulder Gibby? :friendly_wink:

Congrats - that's a great amp! I have one in a 1x10 combo and it's really articulate. The tone control works backward (to my mind, anyway) in that turning it counter-clockwise makes it brighter/thinner/cleaner, turning it clockwise increases mids and girth. I love the surf green and the 12" speaker probably opens it up nicely, too. Come to think of it, I don't recall if I've ever used it with my Guilds.

Thanks, folks. I took it out for a bit of jammin' last night. While I need to work with it more to make it sound better to my ears, I got some nice compliments.

Then I need to work on my playing, but I can't find anybody to trade on that item.
