Here's a pic of my current music room, with all of the archtops out. From left to right: 2019 Steve Andersen Streamline 16, 1937 Gibson L-5, 1970 Guild Artist Award Custom, 1946 Epiphone Emperor (birth year guitar), and 1951 Epiphone Triumph Regent. Whew! It's really impossible to pick a favorite. I lean towards the AA, not only because I'm partial to Guilds, but because it is such a complete instrument in so many respects, acoustically and electrically, not to mention its overall design and craftsmanship. You'd have to offer me a 19" Stromberg in trade to
pry it loose, and even then....

Hmm....this is my wife's home office, and would like to change the wallpaper! I agree with her. It doesn't go with the other themes of the room. We inherited the wallpaper in this room when we bought the house.

I get amused by non-guitar details. Are the shelves filled with library books, or former library books? Perhaps your house is so organized the the books are actually marked and catalogued? Do you sit when you play? Given all the excitement about @Rayk 's chair I do wonder where yours is. Since it is a dual-purpose room, is there peaceful co-existence between the functions? Inquiring minds want to know, but don't need to :)

Good questions. The shelves are filled with a combination of library books from UVA and my wife's books. The labels are all from the UVA library. Yes, I sit when I play, and the chair is behind me (not in the picture). My wife is away in India right now, attending to her father who is very ill. Normally, I store my guitars in my own office -- a large room in the basement next to the stairs going up. But, my stepson is visiting right now to keep me company while my wife is gone, and he is working online these days. So, I've moved to my wife's study to avoid making too much "noise." Hopefully my playing doesn't amount to so much "noise," but the sheer volume could be a problem.

And to think that Rich used to be a flattop devotee.

My two are cheap, but I love them anyway.

the Guild on the right in the pic looks awesome! I like the logo.

Prayers for your inlaws.

I love the guitars but my eyes always go to the rugs in the rooms!

I've been reading/studying rugs for years but if you held a gun to my head I could never say that pattern on your floor is a.... name your rug pattern.....very nice on all accounts!

Man oh man that’s something! If I woke up there I’d think I’d entered the pearly gates. Enjoy those beauties in good health.

Beecee,
The carpet is a Turkoman woven by a bride for her wedding. The pattern and red color is typical of this ethnic carpet. It's made from tough wool that can withstand the itinerant life of the Turkoman. It's used in tents.

Thanks Rich!

I tend to favor the more rustic weaves myself, (yours looks pretty fine tho), but I do have a choice piece or two.

I need to finish my guitar room!!

I always feel like new gear is clashes with old gear, as decor.

What's a really good vintage jazz amp for archtops?
I agree. However, the Rivera Jazz Suprema 55 is a tube amp that delivers everything one needs. The only problem I find with it is that is weighs too much to be luggable to venues outside the house. Some folks argue that one should use an amp from approx. the same era as the archtop you're playing.

A while ago, I bought a ‘55 Gibson GA-9 from another LTG member. Money very well-spent. It brings out an authentic tone from a Franz or P-90 pickup, IMO. No pedals allowed!
