Music before lyrics?

I have that on bootleg, that is very cool! I could never figure out if it was before the song was written, or after and he was just jamming. But I think it more likely you are right, its before.

Crosby is one of the greatest singers for that sort of "no lyrics" singing, which of course CSN made famous.

On the CSN "Demos" CD, Crosby scats for several minutes on "Deja Vu", a great version.
