I knew it was coming so I was prepared.

The odometer on my '86 (vintage  ) Toyota 4X4.

Over the mountains and through the woods and cross-country a few times....and before you know it, 250K!

And it rolls on, 8)

Maybe you can rename it to Apollo 13. If it makes it to 477,700 miles before you run out of oxygen we can all break out the champagne. :D

Well Joe, if ' 86 is vintage than many here ( including myself ) are like fine wine. We are getting better with age, though my wife does often ask me to stop fermenting :D

I've never gotten that far on my cars. Very cool, Joe!

I recently went over 100K on my Honda sports car, but the only thing remarkable about that was that I haven't put it in a guard rail or pulled a Thelma and Louise in it (yet).

Good goin' Joe (and Toyota).
Here in the Land of Road Salt, most vehicles rust away before reaching any mileage milestones :(

Nothing intended; I was merely playing off/with earlier postings about the real meaning of "vintage."
That's why I put "vintage" in parentheses (so much for parenthetical asides).

I think it would've been clearer if you'd used "air quotes" instead. (you know, the ol' both hands held up with two fingers extended and making making little scratching movements, he said pathetically...errr...parenthetically)
'Course, that would've required a picture so we could see 'em.

I put a 'new' instrument panel in my 86 Tercel wagon...I think the original one had around 350 kilometers, about 1/3 less in miles......the one I replace it with had 580,000 on it, and soon will reach 600,000....they used to make a good car...   Still do..Steffan

Sheesh, what are you, a traveling salesman?

Drive on,
Joe
I got it last year from my brother. He got a couple years before that, put plug wires on it and a few other small things to sell so I bought it. Right after I bought it the timing belt broke. Trans. slips a bit but other than that she's good to go :) !

We were going to meet at a park one time when Joe came up this way....but we got rained in...so we we stayed in the parking lot. exchanged tunes, traded guitars, watched people looking around to see where the music was coming from....fun time in a small room....6'x10', approx.and with 4 Guilds ... Steffan

When you posted the pic of your odometer Joe, I immediately remembered a pic I took of mine, with a kinda funny story behind it.... Took me a while to find it but I did.
I was coming back from work one day, and just as I pulled in my driveway, the odometer rolled to this significant mark:

I know you have to get there sometime, provided you own a vehicle long enough to see this coming, but what are the odds it will happen as you get home, right on on your driveway?...
Would have never been able to make that pic otherwise, as I'm not driving around with a camera usually....
