…He wants my trades for it. He’s lookin for cash or trades.
It’s an unbound fingerboard natural color version. Not sure if Cordoba or FMIC yet.
Skunk stripe is straight so maybe Cordoba.🤣😂🤌

I have one of those and like it a lot. I prefer the look of the unbound necks.

Good luck!

Hopes dashed? See pics. Looks like SN cut off of label. No SN on headstock? What gives? Haven’t heard back from seller yet.

The Newark St. Starfire basses do not have serial numbers stamped on their headstocks. The label is hard to figure out. It almost looks like a piece of tape was over the serial number, then removed. I have a B-stock Newark St. Starfire and it had no tape over the serial number, just a red B stamped on the label. In your situation, I would ask for a better photo of the label.

There are no headstock serial numbers on FMIC or CMG Starfire basses.

I have no recollection of seeing Grover branded tuners on a NS bass. Time to update my memory, I guess.

All moot points until the (other) buyer shows up here.

My FMIC has a gold print SN on the back of the headstock.
Mine came with the Grovers that are sitting in the cabinet now. I have ultralights on now.
I guess Cordoba doesn't put SN on the headstock anymore.
Odd thing is he claims the SN number is on the label but you can see the SN paper was cut out of the label. Wierd.

I have a couple of NS Starfire Basses: one bought new in 2015 and one bought used/mint in 2016. Neither has either a printed or stamped serial # on the back of its headstock. I'm not up on when during NS production the ownership change took place, so can't say how that relates to these two basses. Both are festooned with Grover machines which appear to be factory equipment.

The serial # was printed on the back of the DeArmond SF Bass headstocks and (of course) stamped on the back of the headstocks of US-made Guild Starfire Basses.

And here I offer an apology. My NS SF I is definitely FMIC. It does have a label with serial number on the back of the headstock. It is not a stamped serial number but appears to be a decal. I made my erroneous claim because I forgot that serial numbers could be on the back of the headstock without being stamped there.
