WTB: Mid 70's F412 or F512 preferred but later models might work too. Payers grade okay as long as no major breaks. A few repaired cracks are probably okay, not too major though, neck resets okay too. Color no concern but not black. Might have an item two for trade with cash +/- going in either direction. I have a 59' Gibson SJ or a 65 fender deluxe amp and a 2017 Homestead amp 1x10 25w combo. thanks guys & gals. If price is right I'll take something that needs a repair too. Looking to gig with it.

Hi and welcome Rich! You have very good taste. The F412 and F512 are certainly flagship models. As such I think they’ve been consistently great throughout Guild’s history and factories. Unless there is a specific reason I would suggest that you not limit your search, and look for the guitar that best suits your needs.

Hey, didn't I beat you to that, GAD? :D Please fixup whatever works for us!

Edit: I think I was thinking of another post. Maybe I shouldn't moderate with half a bottle of wine under my belt.

There’s nothing wrong with Schallers, in my experience. Still made in Germany, too. Can’t say the same for Grovers.

FWIW - my F512 has Schaller tuners from factory - most likely it is not the only one.

Rich, I think I posted this in the "Online" section, but here is a F512 that is close to me. New Hartford, so not as early as you would prefer...however, I recall folks here raving about the New Hartford guitars...Also, I have no clue if this is a good price or not...

Serial # is N00210005...anyone know what year that is? that price is high. Pandemic is over people...it's back to reality...sort of...from 2002 to present the VG price guide is at $2k to $2,600 for those years..but add 10% as the book is a year behind. Maybe add a few more for being a little older and in find condition. I've been buying/selling guitars 35 years now

That is why I had the disclaimer on price...It has been posted for awhile, so perhaps seller will entertain "Book" offers...There is an older one at a local shop on consignment, but the seller wants $4,100 and the owner says he will not budge, so it's just eye candy for the store...Good luck on your hunt...Dave...

thanks!!...I have a 76' Alvarez Yari 12 and that's mohogany so not sure if I want maple 412 or rosewood 512...I'd take first that came up at a decent fair price

Here is a 412, but Corona. looks really nice...Price also seems a bit steep...I would guess $1,800-2,200 is "Book price", but i have not researched...Also, the video link is for a d55, not a 412...
