I've had this guitar for a dozen years or so, just replaced the tailpiece that broke a few years ago, strung it up with Darco light gauge PB. Decided to take some pics and post them. AFAIK it was made in the 30s, either by Bacon & Day or for them, but I may be way off base. Any info anybody has would be appreciated. The tuners in the headstock photo have been replaced with Waverly open back, the originals were only a partial, and since this is a player guitar and not a valuable collectible, I figured it wouldn't affect its value much, if any.

As far as I read Regal Instrument Co of Chicago IL made the flattop, archtop and tenor guitars for Bacon Banjo Co. in the 1930's.
The Bacon Banjo Company was based in Groton, CT from 1920 till 1938.

In 1938 a hurricane closed the Bacon works at Groton and the instrument production was taken over by Gretsch. In 1940 Gretsch purchased the Bacon name and from that time on, (to the late 1960's) Bacon was just a Gretsch brand name.

As far as I read just made by Bacon, based in Groton, CT. David L. Day had left the company already.
