Congratulations Harry. That looks completely correct, right down to the crooked Guild plaque!

I'd like to see it and the case at Arlington if you're so inclined.

Congrats. Finding a correct case for a bass is always a good feeling. I recently re-united my 65 jetstar with an original case. Seller told me he bought it with a 1956 Fender Precision from Hersh Hamel's estate. Apparently he always kept the Fender in this Guild case.

Whoohoo! Not like these drop out of the sky every day!

I think I will have it that long, Sandy. I'll be glad to show it to you. I know that's not what you're looking for, but I think you will like the way it plays.

That is a cool connection. Now, if I just knew what the case my M85 II came in was really for!

not sure about that but I can tell you that the black 90's Guild bass case w/ the black interior, that you have your 1966 Starfire bass in, is actually a case for the 90's Guild B4E/B4EHG Acoustic Bass Guitar (not a 90s Starfire bass case, which has red interior, and would be too small for a 66).

I would imagine your case fits the Starfire bass perfectly. The 60's Starfire and 90's B4E are very very different, but the case seems to work perfectly for both. it probably looks a lot like this:

and nice score on the M-85 case! saw that on the bay. nice job getting the right offer in.

mav, I will check on dimensions of my Bass Case this weekend and get back to you! I have to move a bunch of guitars to get to the bass, so that will be a Sunday project, I reckon. ;)

As to the right offer, I don't know. It's a lot of money, but then it's very hard to fit that kind of bass.
