 Ahh, but the day is still young!
I happened to be in Cozumel, Mexico a couple of weeks ago with some LTGers, and cjd-player took the Mayan tour. Carl had a good discussion with the Mayan guide, a Mayan indian obviously. The guide spoke 5 or 6 languages and was sharp as a tack. Carl eventually had to ask about the 12/21 prediction and the Mayan laughed his tail off telling Carl that it was all a very comical crock of dung. The guy told Carl that the Mayan calander was divided into sets of years, similar to a decade, or a century, or the Chinese Year of the Dragon, and the Mayan belief is merely that the 21st of December starts a new set of years or a brand new century or something along those lines.
The only ones not worried are the Mayans.
