So........I picked up a little 1948 015 Martin a year or so ago. It had been in an abusive relationship. Some idiot had pained it with a pea green house paint and drilled holes in it presumably for electronics I guess. I found it on Ebay and like I've said before I have a soft spot for abused dogs, cats and guitars so I bought it. I took it to my Luthier and he just shook his head and told me I'd outdone myself this time.

So Eric aka mavuser has agreed to help me out once again with pics and I do appreciate that. Hopefully, he'll load the b4 pics 1st followed by the after pics. Here's what my Luthier did:

1. Stripped the body down to the bare Mahogany (total hog and the wood was gorgeous).

2. Refinshed the guitar with just a gloss (but not too glossy) clear finish.

3. Reset the neck to the correct neck angle.

4. Cut and installed a new bridge, bone nut and bone saddle.

5. Refretted the guitar.

6. Installed a new set of Grover vintage looking open back tuners.

Lastly, the guitar came to me caseless so I bought a new Guardian case that really fits it well.

The guitar has a really great, warm and woody tone as you might expect. And, it has a very large voice for a small guitar.

Unfortunately, I've pigged out on some pretty pricey Guilds lately so this will have to go along with 6 or 7 others.

Anyway, it was fun watching this come together and I don't regret it one little bit. It's on Reverb now but will be listed on this forum for less probably tonight or tomorrow.
