Yeah but that one wasn't as much of a "arm hair-raiser" in terms of foreshadowing things to come, to me, anyway.

"Communication Breakdown" was a bit of a hit but nothing like "Whole Lotta Love". Back then I didn't know Jimmy Page had morphed 'em out of the ashes of the Yardbirds, and truth-to-tell, I suspect the demographic that embraced "Whole Lotta Love" didn't have much clue, either.

Um, "Whole Lotta Love" IS on Led Zeppelin II...

What I was trying to say is that II took 'em over the top but when the first album came out, nobody new how big they were gonna be down the road.
I was citing the modest impact of "Communication Breakdown" as a contrast to the bombshell of "Whole Lotta Love".
My list was of events that didn't seem so significant when they happened but turned out to have history-altering consequences, and LZ II was immediately significant when it happened...that's all.

I read your post a whole different way!

No one can touch The Beatles for sheer high quality output in a short period of time, but's it's pretty impressive Zeppelin put out their first two albums in less than a year.

No worries, it's a known occupational hazard, and in retrospect I guess a couple of things I posted were pretty big when they happened, like Camille, which has basically been forgotten ever since Katrina.
