Brenley MacEachern, of Madison Violet said that she walked into a music shop (in Toronto? - don't remember now) and saw the Harmony tenor hanging up on the wall.

She asked about it, not having seen a tenor before. Its price was considerably more than she could afford.

As she was about to leave, there was conversation that went something like this.

Clerk: How much money do you have on you now?
Brenley: I have $XX.00. (Something very shy of the asking price for the tenor.)
Clerk: Good enough.

4 Strings and the truth! ;)

What a beautiful song! I will be sharing that. Gotta love ladies' voices with acoustic guitars. That 4-string is interesting.

Lisa MacIsaac, the brunette, is the sister of Canadian wildman East Coast fiddler, Ashley MacIssac.

She is a damn fine fiddler herself.

Nice, FWIW, it looks like she's tuned to standard guitar intervals (minus the 5th and 6th strings) rather than tenor guitar tuning. That is DGBE rather than CGDA. That would be like a baritone uke.

Yup. It makes switching back and forth between tenor and standard guitar much easier. There are also videos of her using a tenor resonator guitar with a banjo head stock.

I can't remember who at the moment, but there was a West Coast studio guitarist who doubled on mandolin that he tuned like the top four guitar strings, something I've thought about because the mandolin I bought about 10 years ago just sits in its case!

Your luthier of choice could probably advise on best string gauges for tension and pliability and maybe even make up custom sets for you.

Glen Campbell had a great story about Tommy Tedesco playing parts for different instruments in the studio on the same guitar just changing how he played I guess the style. There's a YouTube video of some of the Wrecking Crew guys talking where he tells the story

I'm sorry gang, I was mistaken! it wasn't Glenn Campbell who told the story, it was Lee Sklar!
