I know there is not a lot of love for the Gibson brand on this forum and I respect that. Personally, I really like Gibson and in particular the J 45. I have a few of that model.

This is a Reverb listing for a lower/economy priced G 45. I've never played one and have zero idea if I would like it. I will say that Walnut back is pretty striking, at least to me eyes. Satin finish which I actually like on a neck but prefer a gloss body.

Striking back on this one, and it's brand new. Might keep you happy.

Jeez, the price is right. The J15 is also walnut backed. You used to be able to get a J15 burst for $1350. Apparently, no more! They're now $1950! The reviews shouldn't have been so exuberant!

I ended up buying this one. The guy marked it down significantly and then reduced it again for a direct sale + I didn't have to pay Sales Tax and they shipped for free. It ended up costing about the same or less than many of the Asian imports.

Don't get me wrong, Guild will always be 1st in my heart. But, this is for sure worth the money. It has that dry, woody J 45 honky tonk sound. Wish it had a gloss body but oh well. Nice swag too. They give you a nice polishing cloth, a Gibson branded key chain and a really nice D'Addario Humidipack

Gibson’s got a good thing going with walnut. I bought a J-15 when they were first released in 2014, and was quite impressed. It ended up as part of a trade for a rather unique little X-braced LG-1 that Ren had a hand in (20 made for the states, 20 overseas) - but I still have a rosewood J-45 & a mahogany J-50, as well a McCartney Texan made by Terada in Japan. There’s just something about that body design that really works.

Congrats on the new roundshoulder & Enjoy!
