I want some opinions on some knobs for the S-275 I got recently. If you recall, it has Burstbucker Pro pups instead of the original XR-7s, and some Gibson style gold speed knobs instead of the original black.

Now, I've found some knobs that are pretty close to the originals (which have indents along the ridge,) but, without the black exposed XR-7s, I don't know if black knobs would fit anymore. (Originals are going for high $, of course.)

So, here are the choices:
Black http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ue&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_3&smid=A3HXDSYCVVTUFQ

Gold, to match the gold hardware (although the Burstbuckers have chrome covers) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ue&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_2&smid=A3HXDSYCVVTUFQ

Or, these dark ambers http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ue&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A3HXDSYCVVTUFQ

So, what's your pleasure? (Votes are non-binding!)

Even though not factory-correct for the model, I might be pretty tempted to put either black or clear Guild reflector knobs on that one... Of the three you linked, I think the amber might look the best, but the black would probably look the "rightest." Do you know whether those knobs (since MIJ) are made for coarse or fine-knurled pot shafts?

The chrome vs. gold would bug me on that guitar more than the knobs do, though. If you like those pickups, you could get a set of gold covers and screws for them, or sell them and buy a gold set (might be cheaper, though less direct/quick). I think I'd probably put the mini-toggle back, too, even if it wasn't connected to anything.

I think the amber would look the best with the gold hardware.

Can I also just say once again what a great looking guitar that is!

Wow, that's a great looking guitar!

I'm not a fan of speed knobs, though I would like the grippy ones you've shown better than the normal Gibsons.

I'd be tempted to put on Les Paul tophat knobs.

I actually had a set of these on my Starfire for a while but I got mocked thoroughly on LTG for having Gibson knobs on a Guild. :)

One of the answer sections on the Amazon knobs says that they fit on a Gibson ES-335 which has CTS pot as spec, so they should be the fine knurls (alpha pots are the course.)
Guild used CTS in mine. (I just redid the wiring, so I confirmed it.)

Looking at a picture on Ken Nash's webpage and comparing them, yes, they look as good as the originals. I'd say the black looks best. Those amber knobs look too much Gibson to me...
Also you need some contrast and the black pickup rings are still there.

Chris, you've got the standing inventory; why don't you pop a trio of Guild reflector knobs on there and see how they look? I still think that's the way to go, although it might be frustrating to track down three with gold inserts.

Personally I'm not a big fan of 'speed' knobs! However, I realize that's what the model came with.

Just made a quick shot of another option:

Looks decent ( I think) and they are Guild knobs!
