Congrats

I'm trying to find out some details about my D25C (C = cherry - it's red) I bought new in 1976 when I ordered it from a dealer. Serial is 111678 which seems to date it 1974 - but I swear I bought it in 1976 - new...

maybe it was new, just sitting on the shelf for 2 years?

And might not have even left the factory for a few months...my '96 probably didn't ship 'til 97 which same year I bought it. If I had to choose just one to keep that'd be it.

I bought a Martin D18 new in 1976, with a 1974 serial number. If I remember right, the strings indicated it had hung around the 2 years waiting for me.

I haven't had the D18 for the last 14 years or so, but I'm convinced that my D25 is similar, but "bigger" sounding; more bottom & Boom.

Hey all. Thanks for all the great responses. I've since put new strings on her, D'addario medium phosphor bronze. The guitar has a great sound, I'm still getting used to it. It's not as deep as my rosewood D70, but it's got a great high end and I like the attack when picking a run. The neck on it is the thing I really like, it's slim and a good fit for my hand. The one piece back was a surprise, with no bracing down the middle. It's stoutly built, but plenty loud.
It doesn't match well against my D18GE because that one has an adi top, and has so much more midrange spank. I like the neck on the 25 much better than the modified V on the Martin.
My '43 018 is out of the stratosphere. It's a tiny O size that kicks all my other guitars to the curb. Trouble is, you can't just haul it around to the kind of drunken jams I like to go to when I'm in the mood. So, I'm sure the D25 will fit in very nicely, when I need a great sounding guitar to show the kids how it's done in the real world, where there is not always a place to
plug in.

Great guitar earbleedz.....
(I posted pics of my 72 here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15352)

There is such a consensus on how great and affordable the D25 is, I think I'm gonna buy them all and become the exclusive "vintage D25" dealer....
And I have a feeling they're gonna get more expensive!!!!!
