Saw them before the lockdown with Dave Mason opening. HT played really well, but I'm now convinced they aim for a really muddy sound live, which is kinda weird considering how clean they sound acoustically.Jorma and I use the same capo.
Saw Hot Tuna at the Capitol in Port Chester, NY on 12/2. Really good shew.
That guitar is one of David Flammang's wonderful creations, and Jorma owns two of them. I'd love to have one myself, but they're $$$$, and there's a long wait as well. He still plays the '58 Gibson J50 that he wrote most of his classics on, but you won't see any Ovations in the herd anymore. He used to call them "canoe paddles". LOLJorma always brings it. Odd to see him not playing a Gibson, even though those are clearly patterned after his favored J-45/50's.
Heck, I've seen him play an Ovation, and he still sounded great.
Also looks like he likes a loudbox as his guitar monitor. Can't go wrong with one of those.
I'd probably want one of the slope shoulders like Jorma has, and (first world problem, I know), I already have three that are so good that it would probably be redundant, and I'd have to sell all three of them to finance the Flammang.Flammangs are very nice. If you don't feel like waiting, they have a few here: https://acousticmusic.org/product-c...guitars/?filtering=1&filter_product_brand=152
