I never knew John Denver played a Guild. I was in Aspen last year and went through the memorial park for him that they have there. It's so easy to see why he was drawn to Colorado and how the beauty of that place inspired his music.

On youtube, we can find him playing guild F50R in Annies song.
This song made me start finger style picking.
Very very beautiful chord work and play.
This is the one of the reason i picked up guilds😊

Interesting that the price list shows as year "57" which is Shōwa time, based on the reign period of the emperor. Hence 57 = 1982 !

It’s awesome to see one of the AA82s show up! I often wonder how many were made/still exist. Gorgeous guitar, Seiki!
I’m blessed to own a similar instrument although mine is Indian rosewood rather than Brazilian. Congratulations on a great find!

It’s a one-off order built in Corona by Fender’s custom shop. The original owner had commissioned them to build a replica of JD’s F50R and they mismatched the top! It’s a total dream guitar for me and I love it more for its quirkiness

What a cool model. Does anyone know why the Aa82 was only made for export to Japan? With all the JD fans out there I imagine it would have been a sought after model.

According to my knowledge from internet.
There was a japanese agent company that was dealing with westerly guilds and they asked guild to make only 20 of AA82.

On the other hand, this is unsure information but there is a japanese singer songwriter called Yosui, he s been using guild over 50 years. He is and was a famous american country music fan and iconic user of guild in 80s, so the first one of aa82 is owned by him.
Other r owned by luckyly like me.

But i do understand why americans didnt commercially sold them in the US...
John Denver is so timeless even for a agean guy like me

Welcome Seiki! Hopefully you can stick around a while! Lot's of great info and Guild ( general Guitar ) enthusiasm here.
What a beauty and a great find! Road tripping for hot springs and cool guitars! Sounds like a great reason to gas up the family car!

When I first started getting into Guilds I remember watchin some old muppets videos with my kids who were younger at the time. My oldest one goes "look Dad, he's playing a Guild"..

Well mine is not a custom one off like yours ( super cool btw ) or an AA like Seiki's but I will say I too am a fan of the Rosewood bodied Guild Jumbo. I have had my F-55 for 4 years now and it continues to give me more the more I play it.
