JJ Cale and some interesting luthier work

I like the turnbuckle installed in Mr. Cale's guitar. Probably found it in Home Depot's "guitar-mod" aisle. :mrgreen:

Agree. The turnbuckle was the crowning touch.

Aside, of course, from his playing. Always blows me away when a good player picks up a piece of crap and makes it sound so very much better that any of my very much better guitars.

Years ago (quite a few) when I lived in Texas, I worked with a fellow who had that ability. Always blown away, I was!
I couldn't get the sound out of my Martin that he could get out of my.....Suzuki!

I'm pretty sure that I've improved, and it would be difficult to imagine that he could have. :shock:

Love JJ Cale. I have more of his albums than anyone else's. I read that Crazy Mama was the first radio hit recorded with a drum machine - apparently an old Yamaha Acetone, and that he recorded drums and rhythm guitar tuned to F# open, reclining in a comfortable chair for the laid back vibe.
