Hello, hope I am not repeating as my other post did not show. I have been playing acoustic for 10 years, I have a Taylor 114 and a Garrison G010( both have uniqoe voices) but have been looking add one to the stable and have always come back around to Guild. I'm thinking EIR/spruce.... Small body, I have tried the Contemporary series and was pretty impressed although they are hard to find in my area....Not sure if Guild makes a guitar with a cedar top?
Anyway, any advise, and insight is always welcome, looking forward to being here.

Welcome aboard, Marty. The only cedar top Guild I can think of is the CO-1 which has a red cedar top: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/prod ... sku=512089

Welcome here Marty; you'll like it here. 8)

Scratch, Jay Pilzer brought a nice CO-1 to GuitArlington last October, and I enjoyed playing it quite a bit. I guess the problem with the CO-1 is finding one with a good neck set. It probably would be near impossible to find more than one to sample at this point. There's one on eBay right now, and the seller does have a three day return if it's no good.

I for one love Cedar topped guitars, and the nice mellow sound they project.

Hey scratch that must be part of the Contemporary series? Looks nice indeed

Yes Marty; the C0-1 is one of the Tacoma crafted contemporary series guitars. I have a CV-1 which is similar in size (based on the F-40) and it is most comfortable. Be wary of any that are stamped 'used'. Fender whole-saled out many that did not pass QC as they were making the transition to New Hartford. Lots of discussion on that topic here in LTG. I wound up putting several hundred into mine as the neck had some serious problems. If a first run, (not a used/blemish) you'll be fine.

Point well taken, What do you think is a good all around small body Guild? I know it is subjective but gives me astarting point. Thansk,

Wow. You'll get lots of replies to this question, Marty... For starters: F-20; F-30; F-40; and my favorite small body; the GF-25

Lots of LTGers with some nice Guilds up in your neck of the woods...

Welcome Marty. I can't speak to cedar Guilds, but I love the sound of a cedar topped guitar. They always seem to have a wonderful, warm, woody tonality.

I once fell in love with a young girl named Marty.
It was during our family campout at Champoeg State Park in Oregon.
I was 9 years old.
The year was 1959.
Then again my memory is not that reliable.
I could have been 12.
In that case,it would have been 1962.
Hmmm... I am certain the name and location are correct...
It was before I ever owned a guitar.
Had I owned a guitar,I would've played it for Marty.
And perhaps she would have stayed,or not.
