I wonder about the accuracy of the listings. First guitar is a D-212 from 1965. Must be one of a kind as I don't believe the D body 12s came around until mid-70s. Also, a Johnny Smith with the original Bigsby?

Few people know that Johnny Smith was a long time member of the Ventures.
Johnny Smith wrote "Walk Don't Run"
Which the Ventures learned from a Chet Atkins version. When Chet introduced them to Johnny Smith in Colorado, they apparently had no idea he had written it or even that he was a guitarist.

Another nugget about one of the world's most over-forgotten bands.
I got a pet theory even Hendrix sat around copping their licks from a record player.
My pet theory about him being influenced by and a connection between him and the Yardbirds (their gadget-meister Roger became Hendrix' gadget meister) didn't get validated for about 10 years after the fact though.
Maybe some day we'll finally see somebody who knew him then confirm it.....I'm thinkin' "The Ventures in Space" as a likely disc in particular.
Jimi was a notorious mimic, if he liked something he'd just soak it right up and spit it back out.
