I bought a SB-502E off of Reverb about a year ago and I cannot find anything about this bass, save a picture from a catalog from 1983 listing the specs and a few old threads on here mentioning it. Please, any information on it would be nice. I'll upload some pictures as soon as I can.

Well to start off the "LL" serial number indicates it was a Prototype.

It was the continuation of the B-402 series.

Here is my B-402A:

As you can see it has the same electronics with the built in EQ.

Then when they changed to the "SB" series of basses, I guess they decided to bump it up to a 502.

Here is my SB-202:

Now I can't tell you what the 'E" is for. Normally in "Guild Speak", "E" means
Electric" but that seems kind of obvious.

(And you all wonder what is taking so long for Volume II!)

I think the "E" denotes the fact that it has active EQ.

If it is the prototype, then were there other 502E's made or is this the only one? I have tried looking for guild price catalogs for any other information, but it seems it was either never sold or that the catalogs that do mention it are not available online.
Speaking of the EQ, what do the switches do?

I would recommend contacting Hans Moust directly for information about this guitar through his website.

It's listed in Ted Beesley's book as being made in 1982-83. The EQ is for treble and bass. It also has phase switches and a preamp switch.
