Bonjour Messieurs-Dames!
I like to customize stuff, change the look of this, or put a different badge on that. I'm a hard-core gear-snob, I like to not exactly have what everybody else has. (Mostly, I can't afford it!!) I love offset guitars, Epiphone Strats with a banana-headstock,or telecasters with a sg-ish pickguard.... It makes me smile when I see a Renault car with a VW sign on the hood.Plenty of time locked-down lately , no problem! I had a cheap old MIK Samick sg-copy, got rid of the red thick coat of paint on the front because I wanted to see the wood (phew! thick!)and do some gun-oil, I put Gibson pups in , Grover tuners, and inlayed the brass plate that was on my parent's fuel-stove way back in 1965 on its head. So, it's a Zaegel-Held sg . It's a trap for guitar-afficionados...What 's that you play? Oh, it's my Zeagel-Held!!! It's a hobby, utterly useless , doesn't hurt anyone...
Here are a few pics of my formerly- known- as-a TCE sparks boost pedal : The Wonder. Wonder sold millions of pocket lamps in France, some weirdo in their R&D might have secretly designed a boost-pedal in the 60es, who knows?... Anyway , I've got one.! The pedal-case is a vintage Ribet-Desjardins , it's badged "Supertone".The T-Rex pedals are real , they look like toys, they're ok...The Hofner delay is nice too, stern East-German looks, Ausweis Bitte!...The Fada Daffodil amp was once a Laney Linebacker 50, now it's a tribute to the Daf 600 Daffodil. (A tiny 1960 Dutch car, people actually drove it to go someplace!!) Fada is the word used in Marseille for someone who's lost his mind. That's the best anagram I could come up with using the Daf logo letters. The knobs are a tribute to Roger Tallon's Lip Mach 2000 watches. The generic pseudo-Celestion has a fake-vintage "Vega"label on its back .(This amp is a P.O.S and badly needs new capacitors, it really should have gone to the bin
If you have ever indulged in customizing things of guitar-interest,(or not!) feel free to post some pics, don't be ashamed, we all make mistakes !!! Straight pedal-boards welcome too!!Take care!
