Maybe in a vacuum. It's a method of thin film deposition.

As I often say, I think it would be a sin NOT to buy this! Your wife would probably get over it -- though if she didn't it would probably have little to do with the purchase of an electron microscope.

More a fan of the MRI but I can't be bothered to install the necessary shielding.

My dentist has a Conical Beam CT machine and he gives me the reader and the files. I've found things that he's missed because I have such weird problems stemming from being kicked in the face in my 20s. I could locate weird issues that I could feel but couldn't really point to. He actually has a published article about me that he wrote hanging in the office.

The ability to see inside stuff in 3D would be SO valuable.

I used to teach. Give me a whiteboard and I can literally go for days.

Most of my guitars have stories. I think that's common for people who collect and go meet people who are selling. Hans has some great stories.
