OMG, I never knew. I thought "Autotune" was something for guitars...
I'm the kind of schmuck who never listens to vocals. I listen to the guitar, then the bass if it's good, then the drums.
If all else fails I listen to the vocals.
All the time I heard this I thought it was a cool effect on voices ;]
