Picked up a MIK s100 today ... very surprised by how much I liked it ... I actually think I prefer it's neck to my '74 Starfire IV (though that has frets that were completely levelled by a previous owner, so not even the normal relatively flat 12 inch radius).

And just like that we're back at 95. \m/

I posted to get the 666th then edited it to put in the screen pic. Hence the neighbor of the beast.

..or the numbering is just off in a weird way. Drat.

Yeah, but who authored this thread, with more an 37,000 views, hmmm?

But I digress. My point of posting here was to highlight the nine S-100 DeLuxes on the roster (and I'm including Los Angeles' excellent '77 refin and Zelja's '96 conversion even though, technically, they stopped making DeLuxes in 1976). The first seven are all from 1973, thus making them DeLuxes in every sense of the word. In our little world, however, if it has a Guildsby, we're calling it a DeLuxe. So without further ado, here are the Divine Nine...

Didn't see this post until now, but my refin is a 75, so it could have been legit by serial number, but alas, it started out as an S-100 standard anyway.

ATTENTION

Since I have been much less active around here lately I'm handing off maintenance of the S-100 roster to Thunderface. If anything needs updating please pass the info along to him.

Thanks, TF!

(PS: My Newark Street S-100 is up for grabs so shoot me a PM if you're interested in wheeling and dealing. Others may go on the block in the not-too-distant future so I may entertain offers on those as well. I'll probably keep the SFIV though.)

Thanks, Brother Qvart. I will work hard to continue on with your fine work. And make sure that that sunburst '77 S-100 stays in the family, preferably your family. Would be a shame to part with something so beautiful.

I guess it's only fitting that I be handed the reigns to the roster, for I authored this thread so many, many, many S-100s ago.

It would definitely be tough deciding what to part with: I have one each of the different tailpiece spacings/neck angles and I dig them both. I could honestly do without the DV52 and buy a cheaper acoustic but that thing is a beast and it's awesome. The Newark Street is great too but I could see myself parting with it more easily. The SFIV isn't going anywhere unless I snag a different one. Who knew? I find myself an LTG regular for years and become something of a go-to guy for all things S-100 only to be led astray by a Starfire. Craziness.

Thanks Qvart for all the diligence up to now & for TF for taking over. Great spread of the DeLuxes as well!
