Could be a coincidence, unlikely, it's really the same tailpiece.

Probably a running change in the model.

You had to get lucky to find that one, most I found looked like this, or worse.

The modded one looks like Firefly meets Casino.

My two tele creations..... the first one is a USCG body (mahogany, maple top) and neck, I did the electronics (Push/pull p90 side coil taps on the P-rails and 5-way switch), the finish and hand made the pickguard; the second is a pine Tonebomb body, All Parts neck (needed a lot of fretwork) also did the finish and the electronics in it (Gretsch HS Filtertron and a Dimarzio Area T)
