Hey everyone,

I haven't been keeping up for a while on this or any other boards, and I am curious to find out what has become of the Guild Heritage collection (I think that was the name) of hand-built replicas of their very best guitars, which were amazing, but pricey.

Are they still crafting these guitars (X-500s, Aristocrats, and several others)?

Thanks.

I think the answer is No, or Not Yet. Guild/Oxnard is still working on establishing regular production. Depending upon sources they are interested in offering small production runs of limited editions but that is a back burner item until regular production is well established. I have seen claims that they are interested in continuing both the Orpheum and American Partiarch but a more recent comment seems to be backing off on the Orpheum claim.

Eric is referring to the Guild American Patriarch series which consisted of the X-500 Stuart, the M-75 Aristocrat and the Artist Award. They were only built between January 2013 and May 2014 in New Hartford and afterwards production was stopped due to the move of the New Hartford/CT factory to Oxnard/CA. Best bet is to look out for a pre-owned one. They were excellent guitars. I don't think we see any of them soon out of Oxnard.
From time to time a few show up pre-owned like a M-75 in Germany currently: https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s...patriarch-series-john-mayer/486372096-74-2053

Yes, that is correct- I am thinking of the American Patriarch series, and I didn't realize that they were a limited run program. I had been hoping that they would be the ones recreating the Thunderbird, accurate down to the kickstand. and offering either the single-coils or the mini-humbuckers per customer request. Oh well, it's back to looking for an original......

Thanks for the updates.

To calibrate your expectations, Cordoba/Guild has expressed an interest in making electrics in Oxnard but has given no indication as to when that would happen. The Newark Street line does not attempt to copy or recreate vintage instruments. "inspired by" might be a better description because changes do get made if doing so helps hit a target price or if parts are easier to source. In spite of that I would be surprised if Oxnard even thinks about recreating any electric that is a candidate for, or competes with, the Newark Street line. Like the electrics, custom builds are not "off the table" but neither are they in any announced five year plan.

Your best be is almost certainly an original.
