New to this forum. Not a guitar player, but buy/sell over 22 yrs online. I was fortunate a neighbor whose husband passed was selling band gear.

I think this is a Guild Starfire V w/tremolo bar... the tuners are all Grover, I don't know what the pickups are

serial nos inside and neck EN 905 match

It has much wear and tear as pictured. I did NOT clean or polish, it is as obtained. This man played in a band during the 60s.

I would like to know the approximate value range & validate ID and date. I live in Az

thank you for any help, I am guessing it would be on the lower end due to its the physical condition. I have seen lots of beat-up guitars still get decent value, so am not certain about it.

Hello, and welcome to the forum! That is a super cool Guild! It is a Starfire V from 1965 and was made in Hoboken, NJ. I’m basing the dating on the serial number and Hans Moust’s “Guild bible”! I’m sure more knowledgeable members than myself will comment too. What a great guitar! It looks to be all original to my eyes, but I’m totally willing to be corrected! I’m not sure about the value though, but you should have no problem finding a buyer for that guitar.

Hello hombrec,

Welcome! ClaytonS15 was close, but actually the guitar is from 1966. I don't appraise instruments that I'm not actually holding in my hands, but if you would do a search for 'sold items' on one of the on-line selling sites like eBay or Reverb, you will and idea what a Starfire V in Cherry from that particular period will bring.

Good luck!

That guitar still looks o.k. and seems to be all original and has the original case. That's always important! The pickups are the original Guild mini-humbuckers.
