I definitely wasn’t going to pull the trigger on something I wouldn’t feel comfortable

Plus the truss rod cover's upside down. That's the last straw.

Hey, Jared. The lifting bridge isn't such a big deal, but if the bridge plate is chewed up so that the string ball ends are working their way up through the holes, that would add a potential costly issue. The bigger issue for me would be finding a tech who has multiple Guild neck resets under his/her belt, and could give you a realistic timeline for completion. Not everyone tangles with Guilds.
At this price point, there's a pretty good array out there.

Well, you don't have to buy new either, Jared. It's entirely up to you. The one you were looking at was a basket case. Not usually the case with guitars in our marketplace or when we rate one highly in our online offerings forum

I do not have personal experience with Oxnard's products. I've probably heard most about the badly-named F-40 model which is almost universally loved by its owners. Do you have access to a store where you can try them out?

I'd buy one a couple years old. It should still be in good shape and problem-free and someone else already paid the depreciation, like when you buy a new car. No warranty but I don't think that's worth much anyway, just my opinion.

Actually no because we don’t have a dealer but there’s the d40e for $2500 cad new

You definitely should compare the two, Jared. That's an interesting comparison as both are nicely balanced rosewood dreads. Martin dreads don't sound like Guild dreads (to my ear), but I like both. Is it a plain Martin D-35 you're looking at or an HD or a V model? I like their vintage-style (HD and V) instruments more than their regular models, but there are many to choose from. If you look at an HD or a V, compare it to a Guild D-50 as well.

I basically don’t really have a choice.
I can’t drive lol and my card will only go up to $2250cad but I’m so close to being able to buy one of those satin d28 new

It feels so weird to actually have money. To think next week I can go buy a Gibson j45 -50s is so unreal feeling. I’ve always been a heavy spender
