You're funny, Sandy!

All the best,
B.

I've been playing that guitar since the early '80s Bruno, and I don't think that I took note of the shape of the TRC once.

I don't know much about this model - I think it has a spruce top (?) with what looks like mahogany back and sides and neck, and the board looks to be Brazilian Rosewood, I think...any info would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Lux, welcome to LTG! That is one of the greatest Guilds you got!
The wooden saddle of your guitar seems to be replaced at some point in time, it looks different from the originals to me?
If you want to learn more about your guitar, and other great Guild guitars, I highly recommand you to spend $30 and get the great book of Hans Moust, it is our "Bible" so to say! You can find it here.

Just a hint, your TRC (truss rod cover) is mounted upside down, a common thing we fight here

You are correct! I have the original bridge, it's in perfect shape but the original owner preferred this bridge for some reason. I will put the trc back correctly soon...this seems to be a very big deal around these parts :)

Thanks, All!

For some reason some of my responses didn't show up, but thanks everyone for the kind words!

Just strung it up w/ TI .12s, sounds great! I am sending a pic to Hans to verify the serial#, but it looks like it's probably 1956.

New LTG policy is that posts from new accounts have to be approved by a moderator before they are actually posted. This is because at least twice a new member's first post was to advertise an "escort service" in London and a few othe cases where the post showed no interest in Guilds, guitars or music.

Late to the party, but a hearty congrats Lux and welcome to the show. You said, "I don't know much about this model," and aside from being informed that the trussrod cover (aka TRC) was upside down, here's the only other thing you need to know about it -- sell it to me. Seriously! To me and no one else.

All kidding aside, that is one belting a grand slam on the first pitch you see in the major leagues kind of entrance into our midst. Well done! That is one stunning Aristocrat.

I will be more than happy to escort that Aristocrat back to the Boston area

I knew when I picked this guitar up and played it that I had something spectacular in my hands, but didn't really realize how much till I got here :)

I can see why a lot of folks are trying to get their hands on one! Very pleased to have stumbled on this place, thanks for all the kind words. Was this model produced in low numbers, is that why you see so few? I was somewhat familiar with Guild before but had never heard of/seen an Aristocrat before...

Others can speak better to the numbers, but perhaps you see so few because they are so nice that people don't want to sell.

No idea about how many were made but there are quite a number around I would say. We have seen many at LTG, a search for Aristocrat here at LTG or via Google gives you many results. The problem is to find a reasonable clean one and a reasonable original one. (I mean without many changes). So the prices for clean Aristocrats are quite high and some sellers on gbase or ebay keep prices extremely inflated, even if they post the same guitar for 2 years or longer without a sale. So finding a clean one for a low/reasonable price is the big task. And if one has one they are not selling, since it is so nice. I agree to that one!
So the hope is that NH will issue a re-issue of a Aristocrat, similar to what they did with the GSR T-500 now.
