Greetings from the Pacific Northwest. You'll enjoy it here, especially judging by the 'baggage' you're already sporting. With your screen name, you'll probably be the only one here on ....an even keel. But we're not taking on water so welcome aboard!

Welcome new guy,

I'm a new guy too (about a week old). I got such a warm welcome when I joined, I realized I should have joined a long time ago. The people here are the nicest and most helpful people you will meet.

I will see you around!

Welcome keel.

I suspect the next time we have threads about guitars and humidity you will have a lot to contribute

Wow! Pictures in his introduction post!

Might be a little too intelligent to be hanging around here!

Thanks for a great welcome. Love all the sailing references. Very nice.

Graham asked about onboard internet access. Aircards and the like are popular for those staying nearshore. The sat based systems for offshore access are still to expensive for the average cruiser. The goldplaters have'em. But e-mail access is very cheap via a specialized modem and high frequency radio (Ham/SSB). Can't handle large attachments but for text and small attachments works great.

For those that might care here is a pic of our "home" for eight years. We sold her about 7 months ago.
