One of my favorite guitarists. He did groundbreaking work with Sonny Boy 2 and Little Walter, writing the book (along with Louis Meyers) on how to back a harp player. His early solo sides are fantastic. Happy Birthday!

Saw him and Johnny Shines together in Cambridge, MA, a couple times. (Closest I'll ever get to Robert Johnson.) Both great players, but Shines' voice was just electrifying.
One of the alltime greats.
