Hi
I have a Guild X160 and was trying to date it.
I found a chart on line, but in the chart the model number and beginning of the serial number are usually the same.
On this guitar the Serial Number is different from Model Type as in the chart.
Guitar in question is a Guild X160 serial #AK150573
I searched the site for previous threads discussing similar issues, and found a couple but were they were unrelated to this model.
I hope this is the right place! :)

Welcome . . . my guess would be '94, based on the published s/n chart (which is unfortunately known to have some errors).

But based on that chart, the last X160 built in '94 was s/n AK160031.

edit: turns out my guess was wrong, see below!

That version (X-160 Rockabilly) wasn't made in 1994. It's more likely from 1999/2000.

The X-160 Rockabilly, X-150, and the X-150D shared the same superstructure so Guild used a single serialization scheme for all three models. That's why the X-160 Rockabilly models made in Westerly have the AK150xxx serial number same as the X-150 models. It's a little confusing, but it is what it is.

WOW!!! What an incredible treasure trove of information on this guitar. Thanks so much GAD!!! Now I just need to figure out why the High E string is quieter and muffled all the way up the neck, adjusting the E string PU coils does not change it, and it is muffled on both PU's. All the other strings are louder and as clear as a bell. I suspect the high E has worn itself into the bridge.
