Ok I found this Guild amplifier of some kind and I think it works for stereo equipment but I think it may be a legit guitar amp but I’ve never seen or heard of this Guild amp.. Any assistance would be helpful and appreciated! Thank You!!

Well, damn! I thought I had something really cool here! Well, what about the Guild amps they made in the 60s and 70s and even 90s. Those amps are surely Guild guitar right? Man I just bought a beautiful ‘70 Starfire VI stereo and it’s on it way via ups! I can’t wait to play that beast!

I used to think I loved the Starfire IV but when I found out the VI’s have stereo I was sold! Plus the beautiful appointments the VI has are amazing!

Pretty sure that was made by the Guild Television & Radio Corporation, which is a different company than the Guild we go on and on about around here. Looks pretty sweet though!
Thanks for answering buddy. You know if you call the headquarters of guild they don’t even know Guid made amps!! They need a Guild Historian to work for them.. I love their vintage acoustic amps and the Thunderbass amp they made!

Stereo was an option on many of Guild electrics in the ‘70s. It was an option in the price lists. We usually see it on Starfires and S100s.

Guild made lots of amps. I have a few from the 50s and 60s. The amp you have might sound very good with a guitar hooked up to it. Lots of folks modify home audio amps for guitar. I have a Bogen DB10 set up that way.

If it happened before 2014 don't expect the current owners to have an answer, and if by some chance they have an answer, confirm it before acting on it.

Good information from all! I think I might just pick it up to see what it’ll do! But maybe I’ll offer less.. lol

And I love the old Guild amps! I have a bass thunderbird or something like that but I run my guitar thru it and into my two 12” blue alnico speakers!

What I find unusual about this amplifier is that it has the words "Stereophonic High Fidelity" on it, but it is clearly a monophonic amplifier! The valve complement, single output transformer, inputs and speaker outputs ( C for common along with 4, 8 and 16 Ohm taps) all show this. Strictly speaking, stereophonic (solid sound) does not refer to the number of channels, but it would be extremely unusual for the word to be applied to a system which didn't have at least two channel sound. Wonder if these were sold as pairs?

Yes, that was their logo. They were based at 460 N. Eucalyptus Ave. in Inglewood.

Since probably they thought Inglewood is not really known they changed that on badges to Los Angeles.

And the 1959 amplifier part which COONEY bought would have looked this in the complete system:

Look how they called themselves:

I might try that. I’m gonna start a thread about my rig using multiple amps.
