Guild sighting-Red Starfire VI

Went to Penns Peak, about 2 hours north of Philadelphia, last night to see Dickey Betts. To my suprise there was a great opening threesome Scott Weis Band. The band was mostly into blues. Midway thru the set Scott Weis pulled out a beautiful RED Starfire VI. The mini buckers cut thru the bass and drums nicely and provided a contrasting sound to the Les Paul used on most other songs. The guitar was something to see. It was a deep yet bright red. Finish looked deeper red than a typical maple body but not as dark as mahogony. So I am not sure of the guitar wood. I don't think I ever saw a red starfire VI as most seen were blond.

I would go to see this band again.

Yes there were Starfire VI in cherry, a 1967 one (S/N DB205) was sold end of 2011, but modified, somebody had replaced the bigsby with a new tailpiece and the 4 knobs were not longer stock:

Nice. That's it. Top photo looks deep red lik a 'hog and bottom lighter like maple.

Still not sure of the wood.

Looking in the soundhole of the top picture, the wood looks very light, so I guess Maple. The first picture is made under a red light, as you see on his face and arms, so red light would make the red on the guitar look dark. The second picture is under more yellow light.
