Hi there,

For those who are interested.
You can find some very beautiful leather Guild guitar straps on ebay made by levy's leathers in Canada.
I bought myself one because they will be sold out very soon. You can find them at :

I guess you don't have to wait too long if you wanna buy one.

Hey Gerrit, they are nice straps aren't they?

We get them here at LTG, same strap, delivered through our leader Dkl, provided by our Beef Baron Bing. Price is right and a portion goes to the forum.

High, friends of Guild;

I absolutely join in praising this belt - I have ordered one on ebay into Southern Germany two or three months ago alright, and the belt definitely is a beauty!

I know this is an old topic, but are these available anywhere still? Thanks!

I don't think so. Last time the topic came up there was mention of needing $100+ to get one on eBay.

That's unfortunate. I emailed Levy's to see if they have any intention to re-release. How much did they cost to begin with? $100+ doesn't necessarily sound unreasonable in comparison to the current market.

Hi Nic! :D I got a proposal for you: Buy one of the "pre 2012" Guild GSR models, this exact strap came with them! (In 2012 it changed to a different strap supplied with the GSR models).
Like this 2011 GSR F-30 Maple as one example:

That's a pretty strap and a pretty fiddle to boot! I just bought a '96 F5CE though, so the next one has to wait at least 6 months or my wife will shoot me! Knowing they were available as late as last year makes me more confident that I can find one though. Thanks for the info!

When Guild special orders straps, for shows and conventions, for example, they go to Levy's. Guessing at the amount of work required and comparing to their other products I'd say $50 is in the ballpark for a new strap.

I have two of those:
• the one I got from Don/Bing some 3 years ago (right)
• the one I got from New Hartford this year (left) - I'm not sure if this is the one you get with the GSRs now;

I like the left one better as it is softer, a tad thicker and less wide. The right one could work better with guitars with more bling than mine. And I have to admit that I rarely use straps at all.

I found the tooled strap to be too stiff to be easily used and did not invest the time to soften it up although I presume saddle soap or chewing it would eventually soften it. I also found the metal "snap" made me nervous when carrying it in a case.

+1 ! And to wide for my taste.
But I am not selling it, as it is the case candy of the GSR model, so I hold on to it but don't use it.

After reading this, I was surprised at how soft the one I got was. It may have been used but it sure didn't look it and still haad the shoestring attached. Not the softest strap I have seen but for a new unpadded strap, its not bad at all. It is wide, tho' so if you are a small person, be forewarned. Here is a picture:

That's a good lookin strap sir! I was still actively hunting when that came up on eBay, I missed it by minutes! Glad to see such an amazing deal go to a fellow LTGer. I just received my brown version, and it is indeed wide. I love the width, but it is certainly wider than I expected. The craftsmanship can't be beat though. Kudos to Levy's.

If you want to trade, I would be up to that. Brown would go better with blonde.
